Hasiru Santhe
In an effort to raise awareness around green issues and to prompt citizens to live more responsibly, Mr. Krishna Byre Gowda, BBMP and Vyasa International School will be organising a one-day festival in Tata Nagar, Bengaluru on Sunday, 10th January, 2010.
The event will be inaugurated by Mr. Suresh Heblikar and Ms. Aindrita Ray and begins with a two kilometre walkathon. It will be interspersed with street-plays by school children from Parikrma. Once at the venue, Mr. Krishna Byre Gowda will also announce initiatives he is taking to make Byatarayanapura Constituency greener.
The venue will have 40 stalls sporting, among other things, a bicycle made of bamboo, solar water heaters, rain water harvesting workshops, documentaries about minimising our impact on the environment, workshops in ‘seedball’ making and garbage segregation, shrubs and trees, natural clothes and regional foods. People can even test-drive electric cars and high-end bicycles on site. Besides these stalls, there will be talks on water conservation and waste management by experts in their respective fields - Mr. S Vishwanath of Rain Water Club, Mr. Vellore Srinivasan of Exnora Green Cross and Mr. Anselm Rosario of Waste Wise. Regional and health food stalls will be open throughout the event. The celebration will end with feet-stomping music and the announcement of the winner of the Lucky Draw.

Sahakar Nagar senior citizens identity cards distribution
After conducting the senior citizens ID card camp at Sahakar nagar on Sep 21, 2009, our team submitted the applications to the concerned department in the government and got them processed as quickly as possible. Six hundred of these cards were distributed to the applicants from Sahakar nagar at the Ganesha Temple premises on Tuesday, Nov 10, 2009 at 6:30 PM. Some of the photos are presented below. Flood victims relief drive: Delivery
After preparing more than 6,500 survival packages for the victims of the floods in Raichur, our team along with several volunteers went to the affected site in Raichur district and personally delivered the packages. The much needed materials were received by the people with great appreciation. Take a look at our slideshow to get a closer look at our work there.

Flood victims relief drive: Preparation
After the recent floods in North Karnataka, more than 185 lives were lost and the majority of those who survived were left destitute and homeless. The chances of many more lives being lost to disease and infections arising from water-borne disease and malnutrition increases with each passing day. They needed our help right away. Oct 11, 2009: Senior Citizens ID and Pension Camp in Ramchandrapura
After seeing the amazing response received at the camps conducted in Sahakarnagar, Vidyaranyapura and Kuvempunagar, it was clear to us that we were rendering a much needed service to the seniors, widows and the handicapped in each of the the communities. We therefore planned to bring the service to the lovely people of Ramchandrapura (Bommasandra). For more details, please click here.

Oct 4, 2009: Kuvempunagara & Singapura eye, dental and pension camp
Bringing a much needed service to the people of Kuvempunagar and Singapura areas, KBG Volunteers organised a Eye, Dental and Pension camp at the government school. A huge turnout contributed to the success of the camp. Click here to read more.
Oct 3, 2009: Uniforms and book distribution at the Siddapura school
The children of the Government High School in Siddapura, 1st Block, Jayanagar, were the benefactors of a benefit drive organised by the KBG Volunteers. A hundred and ten children were provided uniforms that were stitched to each child's specific measurements and five notebooks each for use in their studies. Click here to read more.
Oct 2, 2009: Vidyaranyapura Senior Citizen ID cards camp
We know how difficult it can be for the elderly to get their Senior Citizens ID cards made. There is the visit to the application issuing office, getting passport photos made, filling out the applications correctly, submitting the application to the relevant office and then finally checking on whether the cards have finally been processed. Sep 21: 2009: Sahakarnagar Senior Citizen ID cards camp
Another service identified as a necessity was the senior citizens ID card. This card provides seniors with the ability to get several benefits including reduced air and train fares amongst a number of others. Though the benefits are many, the process of getting the card has always been something of a dofficulty for many. We therefore wanted to bring the service to the residents of Sahakarnagar. But we had seriously underestimated how many people were in need of it! Click here to read more.
Sep 20, 2009: Agrahara Layout Health and Pension camp
A whopping 2000 people were fed, 1400 people's health was checked, more than 300 pensions were filed and more than 80 handicapped got their disability certificates approved. This camp was a success by any standards and it was all executed by a group of more than 60 dedicated young students and professionals! To read more about it, please click here.
Local representatives and KBG Volunteers conduct a pension filing camp
On the 22nd of August, KBG Volunteers collaborated with the local representatives to conduct a camp where the elderly, widows and the handicapped in the area could come and get their applications filled. The camp was a grand success. Read more about it here.
KBG Volunteers provide 110 pairs of glasses for free
At their first health camp, 110 patients were diagnosed with a need for prescription spectacles. KBG Volunteers, with the sponsorship of Mr. Murthy of Sahakarnagar arranged for these glasses and distributed them to the citizens of Sanjivini Nagar on Sunday, August 8, 2009. Volunteers projects

Development projects
Living up to his promise to voters in Byatarayanapura, Krishna is committed to providing answers to infrastructure issues like road, water, sanitation, ration cards and public transportation in the constituency. He is also pursuing holistic developmental activities concentrating on projects to bring parks, play areas for children and rain water harvesting.
